Hi, can anyone please explain the significance for amping requirements of the impedance peak to over 600 Ohms in the Sennheiser HD800? Both the HD800 and HD650 are rated as 300-Ohm 'phones, but the attached HeadRoom graph reveals that these cans are very different animals from an impedance standpoint. Thanks!

Another measure from Japanese site •£–ì•Ó.

The impedance peak is close 770 ohms......

In bass (60 to 250 Hz), the HD800's impedance seems to be significantly higher. In sub bass (20 to 60 Hz) and low midrange (250 to 500 Hz) and part way through midrange (500 to 2 kHz), the impedance is still higher.

The implication seems to be that the HD800 is harder to drive and requires a more powerful amp to get the best SQ, and this is especially true for bass.
