Please post a photo of your HD800 when it arrives, in the box or on your head or next to your kit. Are these serial numbered like the AKG K1000?

The HD 800 has a serial number on the headband and you will be able to look up the details of your specific model on the Sennheiser website.

The HD 800 registration page is HERE - register then you can get specific frequency response details.

That's going to open up a giant can of worms.

Yepp, might as well start a new thread immediately, called "My frequency response is better than yours!"

No, no - you haven't been reading the threads - the first ones are *already* with the end users - from yesterday I think.

I'm sure people would say all sorts of stuff. Why do you care? Look at my sig. I've also got a pair of AKG 240DF 600 ohm headphones which need probably need a dedicated amp more than the HD800. Sure, an amp is best for them but they sound very enjoyable (and get a acceptable volume) plugged straight my Nokia phone and even a Sansa Clip!

That being said, I do have an amp for when I sit down at a desk with the 240DF.

Not if they work for you - if they don't, Sceptre tried them with the Graham Slee Voyager and was happy how the Voyager drove the HD 800.

John Willet,

Do you know how much do the hd800 replacement earpads cost?
I am looking for a new pair of headphones and i'm gonna give these hd 800 a try.
But i am a bit concerned about the earpads.Maybe now that these headphones are new, buyers should take at least two spare pairs of earpads because sennheiser may change them at the future again,as it did with the hd580/600/650 pads.

Sorry, I don't know, they are not on the parts list yet.

But as the HD 800 pads are unique to the 800, it is unlikely they will be changed.
