I don't care about its looks. LCD-2 looks cheap and not professional, but its sound is not bad.
 
But in this case I also don't care much about the sound of the HD700, because I've collected nearly every Sennheiser from the HD515 up to HD800... even the older ones like HD540 and so on...

I know this is an unscientific collection of opinions, but given the positive response to the black version, it makes me wonder if Sennheiser could stand to do some more market research in terms of how they make their headphones look. I can't imagine they did all that much consumer testing with the HD600 before putting it out; who in their right mind would have said, "Yeah...I like the faux-marble"?
