Sennheiser HD 660S2 thread

There is something alarming in your review. You said FT3 has more deep and detailed bass and yet 660S2 has warmer vocal. It's not easy to do that. This to me indicates superior technical accuracy. Just wait for ChiFi headphones catching up and crashing the market.
I actually had the FT3 back to back with the 660S2 and I did not like the FT3 nearly as much. The FT3 was noticeably grainy sounding and the fit was not the best for my big head lol. Tonally, the 660s2 was much better to my ears. I would have tried the FT5 but I think the fit is similar to the FT3, so I didn't bother trying it. Too bad, because the overall packaging and quality was impressive for the money.

Any recommended XLR terminated cables for the 660s2?
Fog City is my go-to for cables these days. I like that Mogami wire, esp for the price. (My own made-up rule: I'm hesitant to spend over 50% of the cost of the headphone on the cable for that headphone.)

I love Hart Cables' modular system. You buy the headphone side and amp side and can interchange.

Here's the headphone side:

And amp side:

What's nice is you can buy different Hart modular headphone cables and use the same amp side with all your different sets. I do that with ZMF, Sennheiser, and Focal. I leave the amp side plugged into the amp and just connect whatever headphone I have to the interconnect.

I am not expert also , i have place 2 questions on Sennheiser contact support the one is about the baffle and the other about the coil the red ones vs the blue one . i am waiting a mail reply, the first answer was from Sennheiser Official youtube telling me that old 600 650 use acoustic silk and new 660s and s2 use steel.

The new version 650 and 660S2 baffles feel and look nearly identical to me. I think all models use steel mesh now.

It seems that i might have been right afterall.

I kind of remember a post somewhere that they have changed from silk to metal and that they have claimed was not a difference in sound while others claimed it was.

Those look great. I assume they are on par sonically with the standard cable?
