Sennheiser HD 660S2 thread

Thanks for all your answers guys. I will take some more time for it to adjust to my head. Maybe i will do the Book trick overnight for 1 week without the pads to not wear them out? It could still be the clamp force, i don't know. But it seems i've streched it enough, but i could be wrong.

Also, i'm using a Moondrop Dawn Pro balanced to drive the HD660S2, Would you say it's enough or do i need to upgrade to something else to really feel the HD660S2 capabilities? Volume wise it's more than enough for me.

who else is running their s2 with a fiio k7 or a k9?
i think the s2 runs very well on it
Running my HD660S2 with FiiO K9, they pair really well, too warm IMO with K7.

Really? I thought they share they same dacs and amps? I find it just warm enough
They share the same THX amp modules but their DAC's are completely different. FiiO K7 AKM AK4493S x2, FiiO K9 ESS ES9068AS x2, not to mention K9 has a inbuilt linear power supply the K7 does not. As a result K7 is smoother, warmer/thicker sounding than the K9. The K9 is cleaner and more detailed than the K7 and punchier in the bass.

About time they make an k7 ess then? I really don't want that massive amp on my table neither do i need all features of it
No plans for an ESS flavoured K7 that I'm aware of but they are about to release a AKM varient of the K9.

i want to start believing that burn in or break in of the headphone is indeed real
both my 109 pro and 660s 2 started sounding more correct after they got some use time.

on the s2 i have noticed that the sound became more airy over and fuller

I have the 660S2 and the K9 Pro since a couple of weeks, it's just fantastic! They make a great combinaison.

The K9 Pro is big step coming from a K5 Pro (AKM) as well.

in the past, I had the HD650 (then sold it) and wanted to have it back, but in a more modern formula. When I discovered the 660S2 I jumped on board, although the price (470€) was not so friendly. I also had tried the 109 Pro, but wasn't appealed by its treble presentation at first sight.

Together, the K9 Pro (ESS version) and the 660S2 provide a very nice balance, the neutral approach of the Fiio and the Sennheiser HD6** warmth :L3000:
