I just got a pair of Sennheiser 429s as a gift from a friend and I've found that when I plug them directly into my Presonus Central Station they have almost no highs. The only sound that comes through is the is the mids and lows. Plugging them into the passthrough on my 2.1 speakers that I then plug into the Central Station causes no problems, but there is a slight crackling due to the low quality of the passthrough.

I've never had this problem with my DT-770s or even with my KSC-75s when I tested them. Is there something I'm missing? They seem to fit snuggly in to the quarter inch converter I use.

I'm listening to them now with Fiio X3 with E12 amp no problems. They actually sound pretty good for $30 headphones.
