am thinking about getting the Senn HD433 for rough use with a portable - what are your opinions? did a forum search but didn't find very much.

can get them pretty cheap locally (S$30 - approx. US$16). but are they worth the price? seemed pretty ok when i used them at Borders...

Gyah. Those 433s, though better than headphones bundled with portable audio gear, still kinda suck for the price. The improvement in the sound quality of the 433s over any stock headphones isn't enough to offset even the relatively low price you have to pay for them.

I'm not sure you could even say that!

HD433's sound like icepicks to my ears. I prefer listening to crappy earbuds bundled with my portable cd player.

i bought a pair before i really got into headphones. i do think they're better than the crappy stock headphones that come with portables, but i still don't think they're worth the price.
