Hi everyone

Right now, I have owned a pair of D7k for 2 years already. So, I want to try a CIEM that have the similar sound with D7k so that I can carry around when I'm traveling. Carrying a huge fullsize headphone on the neck is very painful and uncomfortable.

I wonder if anyone can help me decide.

Here are the 2 CIEMS that I think they have a same sound with denon D7k

1) UE18 pro
2) UM merlin

Thanks for helping me.

The Westone ES5, Heir Audio 8A, JH16Pro are close match to D7000 in term of soundsignature and bass response.

^Definitely not the es5 haha.

The Merlin should give you everything you want if you want a ciem that sounds like the D7000.  Big soundstage, great bass response, mids are less recessed than the d7000 (a good thing), and has a bit of treble sparkle.

es5 has a very great mid but that is not what I want.

Merlin is a great choice for me because 800usd is affordable.
But, I'm kind of curious about the UE18, UE is well known by its shell and sound quality, especially the low frequency. I'm doubt that UE18 is a very good CIEM but the price is extreme high 1350usd.
