I would have thought that 6S7GT would draw either too much current or voltage that it would burn out the Vali 3?
You want Tube Rolling for the Vali 3 here my eBay listing of a Lots of 9 Tubes with a storage box. 4 of them will need a ECC88 6922 to 6N3 5670 Adapter and i explain which one.

• Vali 3 is now in the category of: "we hold these truths to be self-evident". What is that particular truth? That Vali 3 is a fantastic headphone amplifier - at its price and outright! [ ... I know: repetitive but... ]
• Give Vali 3 a tube and a headphone that are "up to snuff", put the Head-Fi "quest" aside .... let the good tunes roll.

I just saw someone selling one with some extra tubes after only 6 weeks. Apparently they just wanted to try other stuff now. I don’t understand, especially for such an economical unit. Just pack it away for a few months until you get bored with the new thing. I’m a little upset I let go of my 5670/6922 adapter when I sold my Orchid. Lesson learned. Keep all adapters. Especially the ones you don’t “think” you’ll ever use again. Reading through this thread, you guys make a pretty compelling case. Can’t have tubes at work or in my bedroom system without some extra protection though. Don’t want to deal with singed cat tail.• Vali 3 is now in the category of: "we hold these truths to be self-evident". What is that particular truth? That might have been the one that I bought off of eBay not too long ago. The seller said that he had bought a Bottlehead Crack. I've been enjoying it since it came.

They were talking tubes that are good in the Vali 3 in the Shiit Happens thread this morning. You can catch it if you're quick. That thread moves fast. There are some knowledgeable folks there. And they play together nicely.

I'm actually having more fun rolling tubes on this little guy than I did on the Bottlehead Crack. Some good Schiit.

I'm not much of a tube roller but I'm thinking about trying a GE Five Star 5670 and a GE Jan 5670W in my Vali 3. But my WE396A sounds so good!

I picked the Vali 3 to make due til I can buy/build something better. Seems like a decent bit of kit so far. Has anyone noticed changes with more run in time? It sounded a bit rough to start and has improved over the last couple days. Could be the tube or caps inside. I tried GE 5670 and the WE396A also, very handy that my DAC uses the same, they do improve over the stock. I'm also considering modding it if there happens to be caps on the output. Some Silmic II could be a nice improvement.
