Better plan for some flowers, if not a nice dinner, tomorrowMy current wife and I will celebrate 30 years together this July 4. Even though you've been with someone for a long time you sometimes learn new things about them. Yesterday we were driving home from an appointment, and I had the car's Sirius XM radio tuned to the Classic Vinyl channel. Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" started. Oooh, I said, I love this song, and commenced singing along. Now please don't think I can match Freddy Mercury because I can't, but I remembered every word and sang it all the way through while we drove across town. As I finished "Nothing really matters to me" at the end, I noticed my wife was just staring at me. "What," I asked, "was I that bad?" "No," she said, "I am just surprised you knew that song. I've never heard it before."
!!! WHAT??!!! Never heard it before?? You been living under a rock since 1975? It's only one of the most famous songs in rock music history!!
So what I learned is not only has my wife paid attention to different music than I have, but she also does not like being insulted.

Tonight's Jazz recommendation. A favorite of mine from a trio whose leader died tragically and too young. If you've heard of E.S.T.; you know how good their music is. If you have not; I think you're in for a treat.
Enjoy!!
** Sounds great with any Schiit gear and really good with BF2 ->Vali 3 w/ Brimar CV-455 -> HD6XX.

Friday late night in Sweden!… Finally… warming up my Yggy A2 OG (picked up at the Schiitr end of March) and Kara (b-stock with slightly misaligned logo on top) with Sendy Peacock (black friday bargain) and Caol Ila... I’m in heaven!
Kara is sooo overperforming as a headphone amp! Crazy amazing in passive mode!
Don’t start me talking about Yggy… @Bowmoreman pretty much said it all already.

He actually posted in this thread 7 days ago. At the current rate of this thread, it’s 237 pages back…
Are you sure? He last posted in July, 2022, and his account appears to be inactive.
Thank you very much for this info! It's another long read, but lots of good info in the Schiit Yggdrasil Impressions thread
The first two revisions of the Yggy used AD (Analog Devices) chips similar to what Bifrost 2 used (discrete analog output stage)
- rev 1 is the OG A1 board <-- Great bang for buck from the current Yggy+ GS2 deal on Schiit's website
- rev 2 is the OG A2 board
Subsequent revisions of the Yggy have been TI (Texas Instruments) based DAC chips (Op amp based output stage)
- LIM (Less is More) - same DAC chips as used by the Bifrost 2/64
- MIL (More is Less - no longer available)
- MIB (More is Better)
LIM and MIB are the current lineup of available Yggy+ DACs
For the money, and for a profile that is similar to Bifrost 2, but much more engaging/resolving/detailed I'd go for the Yggy+ GS2 (which I did, and I love)

Neither. I see Mike every once in a while. He's just doing his thing. We haven't seen or read from Mike Moffat lately.
Is he retiring or is he also headed to Texas?

Good eye! The Shure still sounds decent but it’s nearly 9 years old. I keep meaning to get a nice MC cart but too many other things keep taking priority. I’ll get there one of these days. The Groovetracer platter and subplatter made a big difference in performance. Also got the upgraded power supply.Do I see a Rega P25 sporting a Shure cartridge?

If you're looking for a great stopgap, The AT-VM95ML is the cheapest nude microline/micro ridge cartridge that I know of. It's a great match with the Rega tonearms, compliance wise. I run one on my RB-600. The AT's mm suspensions are very similar to those of moving coils.Good eye! The Shure still sounds decent but it’s nearly 9 years old. There was an earlier question about if anyone listened to internet radio. I am being vey traditional tonight listing to the Detroit Tiger game on Audacy. The system makes even that sound great! Super enjoyable and puts a big smile on my face. What a great hobby we all share.
