If your cat doesn't actively try to get to a hot pot or pan, it (probably) won't actively try to get to a hot tube.
My cat essentially lives on my desk whenever I'm in the office, and has never tried to even just sniff at a hot tube. Cold ones, yes. Hot ones, not once.
They're (usually) a whole lot smarter than people give them credit for.

I was very careful at first, only having the amp on while I'm in the room, and putting a little basket over the tubes while they were cooling down. After a few days I was sure that my cat isn't interested in hot tubes, and I haven't bothered to keep an eye out since.

The one JJ ECC 82 with this adapter in Vali 3 is sounding pretty decent with HE 1000 Se's.

This is the adapater I got: $10 on Ebay...nicely built. Seems to do the job ok.

I am about to round up some tubes. My suggestion would be to listen to each, form an opinion, then look on EBay etc. for prices on the specific tubes you like. Even better maybe have a family member swap tubes and write down the order without letting you see which is which.

That door is the most direct route to a bathroom, so it cannot be blocked 24/7. And while the sub may well be moving around a tiny bit, I haven't noted any deleterious effect.
