Damn, well, file the Aegir 2 for when I can really do something with my 2-channel system. For now I can just appreciate it from a distance. I wonder how warm the amp gets now with all the efficiency improvements?....

In short: mono is very good, but it reduces the number of speakers you’re compatible with. Mono means you’re driving both sides of the speaker, so impedance is halved. So if you’re running an 8 ohm nominal speaker, you’re really looking at 4 ohms. A 4 ohm speaker is 2 ohms. A 2 ohm dip is 1 ohm. And so on.
@Jason Stoddard , you lost me on this part. Is a speakers impedance (curve) not its impedance, regardless of whether you're driving it with one amplifier (mono) or 1/2 an amplifier (stereo)? I guess I don't understand how the impedance the Aegir 2 sees at its outputs changes when going from stereo to mono. Or is this a function of Halo that I haven't quite wrapped my head around yet?

Any amp with both outputs active (differential, bridged, etc) effectively sees half the impedance of the load, since it is driving it from both sides. Current output requirements double.
I just spent 30 minutes drooling over Tekton designs insane full size/signature/flag ship range wow! Lucky you the Lore Reference is 8 Ohms @ 96dB xD. My 2 channel chase is 87dB, ima need to monoblock,
