Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I'm 2-3 hours away from Schiitr with LA/OC traffic but will see whether I pop up or not depending on the rain forecast

The USPS lost 6.5 billion in 2023. Canadian Post lost 653 million in the first 3 quarters of 2023.

FedEx rate was actual, minus the government rape of it's taxpayers.

Thank Canadian socialism for a better rate.
Some people just have to scream their idiot politics at every opportunity. Is there no normal conversation you won’t disrupt with some MAGA dickwaving?

Any beverages picked out yet? I have time to swing by total wine and drink along. :)

'See' you all later on the video. I'm SUUUPER excited about the digital side in '24.
I'll be drinking a juicy Great Notion Brewing Hazy IPA called Dune while watching my grain-of-sand-on-Arrakis chance at winning the Schiit gear fail.

"Ignore" is your friend.

Just an update!

The same scenario happened with BF2 OG at work.

As a side note, I was able to A/B Audioquest Pearl USB cable going to Unison USB module vs Wireworld Supernova 7 Borosilicate Glass Toslink from the BF2 and lo and behold they’re identical!!!

That tells me that the source matters way more than the interface except for that specific Spring Rain track where SP2000 clips the signal on the first four bass beats with Toslink

Some DDCs are better performing with I2S or AES or vice versa while some are better with USB out. It could be that USB out from the Urd is worse than AES but with my SP2000 they’re identical except for the Spring Rain track intro
Toslink, like coaxial (which your SP2000 does not have) S/PDIF supports a maximum bit depth of 20-bits. IIRC USB can support up to 32-bit depth (sender and receiver negotiate the max data rate upon connection). IMO, the clipping on the test track(s) might be caused by the SP2000 interpolating/extrapolating the native source file into 16 or 20-bit format. Clipping does not happen on USB, which is likely interpolated to 24 or 32-bit depth depending on the downstream DAC used.

there's a silver yggy LIM calling out your name in b-stock...

Tempting, but I’ll wait and see what kind of bonuses I’m getting paid at some point in the spring. Then I might reward myself with something extra nice.

Thanks for the explanation!

Well at least I don’t have to worry about missing a beat on USB out of the SP2000 since it’s almost impossible for me to tell it apart from Toslink out on non-clipping tracks

So wait, I just got the Jot 2. Is Schiit releasing the Jot 3 anytime soon?

a) not likely, there would have been hints
b) even if, "old" Schiit isn't always less good than new Schiit. My OG Asgard is still among my most valued audio-related possessions. As is my Yggy OG and my Mjolnir 2.

I think Jot 2 would be on LAST CALL if a Jot 3 was imminent.
