Back on topic. My first car was my Dad's 54' Plymouth Savoy, stick shift on the column, what a tank. A drunk totaled it while it was parked in front of my girlfriends house in Roslyn.
I replaced it with, probably, my favorite car of all time. A 58' Chevy Impala 2-door in black with a black interior, automatic trans and split bench seat. A superior vehicle for dating. My younger brother ran it into the ground while I was in the Army. Every car I've owned since has just been a car, including my 2002 BMW.
My favorite of all the cars I've owned was an '83 280ZX. Wasn't all that fast (the '78 280Z I had before it was faster), but man what a road car. Many a trip between Raleigh, NC and central Missouri, 16 hours that I'd usually do in one shot and not even be tired when I got there. And, oh yeah, the chicks dug it.
For a rear-engine/rear-drive sedan, I'd make it the second-generation Chevrolet Corvair with the improved multilink rear suspension. Retrofit the engine with a right-angle fan drive off an in-plane pulley, as General Motors could've done better with the accessory drives — Volkswagen and Porsche used a one-plane accessory-drive design with many fewer V-belt dismounts. I wonder whether the Corvair can take the Monza II front suspension, which I understand to be better geometry?
Notwithstanding the battery-to-starter cable length, there are many advantages in terms of electrics. Heavy enough power amplifiers, e.g. the aborted triple REKKR for my down-until-further-notice GMC M11006, can counterweight the engine.
That was the the car my wife had when we got married. Lemon yellow Pontiac T1000 save as the Chevette different brand and still terrible. My uncle owned many Chevettes, truly a disposable car. If had had them long enough you could see the road underneath you passing by. They would rust out in 4-5 years.

I went to look at (my heart's desire for many years) an E type Jag. Came home witha 280Z and got the talk on consulting. And that was BEFORE we were married and I was spending my money.
Should have paid attention to that sign.......
When I was a kid, my father owned a 1958 Plymouth Fury w/ push buttons. It looked like the one in this photo I found on the Internet but it was black & white. That car could almost fly (428hp). I loved that car.
I am to a point where removing my headphones and listening to my speakers makes little difference to my ears but it took me several years to achieve that combination, and some remarkable transducers.

Perhaps @Jason Stoddard or someone else can answer this? I bought a Yggy A2/OG (Gen5 USB) locally and have ordered/paid for the black Y+ conversation and Unison USB. The confirmation email includes a link to tell me where I am in the line to send it back for the upgrades. When I click on this link it tells me I am either "1 of 2" or "2 of 2" in line and keeps going back and forth. Is this typical?
Unless your computer OS or player OS has volume applied, or unless you're playing a different master off of streaming, or unless streaming is applying volume normalization, the output from any Modi that has more than one input will be the same from any input (USB, optical, or coax).
Can easily be confirmed on any audio analyzer--0dB sine = 2V RMS for all modern Modis, since at least Modi 3. Same for MMB 1 and 2.
Agreed. My 1st was an 89 subaru GL wagon w click-on 4wd. Not sexy but was good for hauling band equipment. After that was a 3.1L v6 91 chevy corsica. Much more fun.
But still, cars have generally gotten less & less cool over the years.
