Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Jason, we've had the AK4490 upgrade boards available for quite a while and AKM just announced their AK4499. Any chance of a new upgrade coming with more recent chips and better measurements? I'd jump on a fresh upgrade to my Bifrost with mono AK4497s on it- can't argue with 8 db of S/N. Seems like a no-brainer now that the 4497 has been out a couple years.

With all due respect have you paid attention to either Mike or Jason's threads?

Any chance Schiit is going to show the world the proper way of making an R-2R ladder DAC? :)

That's funny.

In what seems like another life I use to laser-tailor those on a ceramic substrate. I think some of them ended up in space.

Thanks for the Sol update @Jason Stoddard . I am very excited about this product and can’t wait to see updates from the Friday meet. This will be a stretch product for me in both price and interaction.

The Sol chapters are great foreplay.

there are 4 of them

And Mike would be the expert on his implementation.

Technically Yggy is an r2r DAC, if not what?

So when you get the whimsy of the "Sol" out of your systems (sic), might you consider the "Spieler"? A Redbook CD transport done Schiit's way. If even cassettes are regaining popularity, the CD must soon be due for rehabilitation.

@Baldr is working on a transport.

In order of severity and no hard terminology:
1,2 and 3 on the "bone ridge" behind the ear.
4 and 5 on the weak spots and 6 closes the ear.
7 and 8 relieves more stress and 9 is a last resort for you have to press hard until it hurts.

Grazie!
