Rockbox 3.0 was released a few days ago - the first major release since 2005.

Has anybody installed/upgraded to it yet? Experienced any problems or improvement?

I put it on my X5L. No problems so far.

Then again I installed the latest build back in may, so I'm not sure how much of an improvement there could be.

I'm loving the battery life. I get at least 30+ hours of playback.

I'm using an older build on my Sansa c240 v1. It's awesome, and I love the fact that I can use microSD cards larger than 2GB with it now.

All the best,
Brad

It's too bad the Rockbox team isn't able to hack the iPod Touch or iPhone firmware. Not being able to FLACs (don't like the ALAC format) is what's holding me back from getting either of these.

jailbreak your phone/touch and you can run vlc4iphone and get flac support and a myriad of others you just have to donate $5 to zodttd.net to become abeta tester. thats what i'm running on my iphone works great

Just when I got around to making a build for my Sansa with the charging patch and patches for scaled album art...

Put version 3 on my iAudio X5. Cant tell the difference between the older rockbox versions though.

Its stll awesome and I wish every portable player was compatible with rockbox. It would make an ipod wich is already a great player, an awesome device with no equals

So I gather you can't use this on a Sony A828?

Is there anyway to get an A828 to play FLAC?

I stuck it on a Nano and I must say they have cleaned up a lot of the rough edges.

But I've said it before and I'll say it again since it's not changed with 3.0... Amazing result considering, but they really need someone who isn't a total nerd working on their UI. When I booted it up, I could almost smell their sandals as it were...
