Someone here will know: what's he difference between the XBA-3Sl and XBA-30?

XBA 3sl has a J-cord type while the XBA 30 has y-intersect.

thanks ... no crossover design differences? I assume the Armatures are the same?

I believe the cable type is the only difference...

it should be same, maybe some tweaking to reduce metallic treble.
in any case xba series are risky as opinions wary in both the extremes

Wrong, the cable types are different:
XBA 3sl - j-cable
XBA 3/30 - y-cable

Other than that, the difference in tweaks/dampening are almost negligible.

Hey guys.
How would you compare XBA-30 to Westone 3 as all rounder?
Sources : laptop at work (looking to buy a  Dragonfly or other DAC/amp) or Nexus 5 on the go.
Music types : rock, OST, ambient, edm
Looking for non-fatiguing sound  for  longer listening sessions.

Hi guys,
Just finished reading this thread.

I'm thinking about getting the xba-40's since I prefer a darker, bass heavy signature (listen to a lot of dnb and deep house and sensitive to treble).

Has anyone tried it with the Fiio E18 dac/amp? It has around 0.3ohms zout but it is supposed to be a more neutral amp than the E11 for example. I've only got the E18 for my android smartphone, not tried any other Fiio amps so don't hold me to the neutral statement lol!

Also how is the bass impact/quantity (especially sub-bass) compared to the Klipsch X10? And do the 40's distort as easily as the X10's?

I use the X10's with the E18 and overall it is a fantastic pairing save for the distortion issue. I know it isnt the E18 as I've tried it with my old pair of CX500's and they can deliver much more impact and rumble before distorting. I'm comparing a single BA to a single DD I know, but I'm hoping the 40's can withstand more impact.

A lot of questions I know but any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Hey man.got the xba 30s. would like to know what full siza headphones you use that are their equivalent

I can recommend you to check HD 650, you won't be disappointed IMO and right now the price is great. The awesome mids I had with XBA-30 I have now with HD 650.
