the xba40 are very very nice phones, very capable with amazing 3D and enveloping sound... only consideration is the source an dis the reason why i sold them. I am looking to try the xba30 to see how much if any improvement there is

I have the xba 3 and I love them out of my iPod touch 5 but not so much out of my arrow 4g, I realize this is because the xba 3 is source dependent.

BUT! What the hell man everybody here says "oh they need a source that has low impedance" and then 7 or 8 posts later the next guy says "oh it needs a source with higher impedance" will someone please make up their mind?!

I'm really on the fence here cause I want to get a walkman f886 but I have no clue what to expect... Sometimes I hate headfi... Sometimes

I heard the xba 40 and it was nice and spacious but it wasn't very dynamic sounding like my xba 3

I agree, the thing is the warmth of the xba40 hides the dynamics. The better the amp the better they shine.
