Congrats Mr.Blonde.
how do you find your violectric team?
as the V800 stepped in, I experience a more holographic soundstage and an all in all rounder, more realistic sound.
Can anyone recommend some nice and short XLR cables for a V8/V2 stack? I don't need francium triple braided strands with ambrosia cores - just something short and unobtrusive that doesn't stick 1/2 metre out the back of the stack.
Cheers
Id imagine that the PYST cables that Schiit sells would work for a V200/800 stack as well as they work for the Gugnir/Mjolnir stack
That, sir, is an excellent idea. I hadn't thought of those - I even ordered a pair of them before X-mas with the modi-magni combo (which I ultimately cancelled the order on).
Thank you!
I finally ordered the V200 and V800 stack from Thomann this weekend. With a bit of luck they'll arrive around the end of the week.
Thomann sell some quite short XLR cables, this one is only 0.3m:

I ordered a couple of 0.5m ones.
Preliminary conclusion: The Violectric V800 beats the Gungnir marginally on SQ. E.g. transparancy, bass texture and vocal cleanness. The difference is not very significant - but it's there. Adding the V800's flexibility (if you want it), that adds another pluss in the right column. I keep both, though. For the sake of good order, the Gungnir is very good. As for the NAD M51: The V800 is closer to the NAD than the Gungnir.Disclaimer: No volume matching. No academic approach. Just subjective - for now.
