Singapore, man, Singapore. Almost all the major headphone sellers there (which ain't that many, less than 5 in total) will let you try most of the gears in the store, and some of them provide alcohol tissue for your convenience.
In New York, J&R Music World used to let you demo IEMs but I think they stopped doing that. Still worth stopping by there to check, plus they let you demo all their headphones. B&H Photo Video has headphones to demo, although I haven't asked if they have any IEMs that are opened and you can try.
AMP3 have some demo sets, when i went to buy my se530 they asked if id like to demo them first. no idea what else they have/had as i never thought to ask. i had just assumed they wouldnt do demos so i had already decided what i was getting.
Oh my, and here I though most "audiophile" type shops let you audition stuff. *spoilt*
I remember spending 2 hours with HD600/HD650 a year ago before buying.

Alcohol tissues? 32 Ohm Audio has been known to provide fine regional Pinot Noirs to their guests. Not to mention multiple choices for world-class local brews within quick walking distance.
I believe HeadRoom in Bozeman also has a showroom with some demo capability.
