Requesting a recommendation for earbuds?

I need a recommendation for earbuds, as in those that sit outside your ear canal, similar to the old iphone buds.
Up to 40$.
Thanks in advance.

Traditional style high quality earbuds have been disappearing. An easy one to find now under $40 is  the Yuin PK3. The Creative Aurvana Air got excellent reviews. It is traditional earbuds, but with ear hooks. It is $65 on Amazon. If you check Ebay, you might find some discontinued earphones. The Sennheiser MX580 was good, however new ones on Ebay probably sell for $50 to $80. if you don't mind buying used ones, you might find some good ones in the Head-fi for sale section.

The current Sennheiser MX365 is inexpensive, but reviews for it are not so positive.

Good place to ask. VE Monks are very popular for $5. Edifier seems to make good stuff too, but I haven't heard either.

Finding reviews of good old earbuds is much easier than actually finding the earbuds for sale.

It's a reasonably active thread where earbud fans tend to gather, that's why I said it is a good place to ask.

thanks a lot guys, u helped a ton!

You're welcome. The main problem with traditional earbuds is that they fall out of ears much too quickly when one is active. That is why ones with ear hooks are much more practical for active use.

The JVC HAEB75 traditional earbuds with rubber ear clips is only around $8 on Amazon in the US. It is bass deficient like most open traditional style earbuds, although boosting the bass on one's player by around 10 db make the bass good enough for casual listening while very active. Its treble and midrange are pleasant enough sounding for casual use. Sennheiser used to make models similar to this but probably better sound quality and a much higher price.

Instead of earbuds if you want something open that has good bass and no headband, the $15 Koss KSC75 has ear hooks which keep it in place.
The downside to using the KSC75 instead of the HAEB75 is that the KSC75 has foam earpads which soak up plenty of sweat while exercising. The soggy earpads aren't just annoying. They might cause the KSC75 to short out on one side(or perhaps both?).

I imagine these are much more expensive in Israel.

I found this article about  legislators in Israel trying to make it illegal to walk across traffic intersections while wearing headphones or earphones. Similar legislation was proposed for NYC a few years earlier but so far they haven't been able to get any laws passed.
