It has turned out to be a particularly hot summer this year, and I am finding my MDR-7520 too hot to wear for hours at a time now.
I don't think there is anything that can be done about the headband, but the earpads are replaceable.
1. Does anyone know whether the MDR-7520/Z1000 can use the same earpads as the other studio 'phones? (7506, V6 etc.)
2. Do the lambskin leather pads that B&H sell breathe better than the standard pleather ones? (and are they any good?)
3. Are there any other options for custom pads? I need isolation, so velour is out, but I wondered if somewhere was selling anything better than the Auray pads B&H sell.
