I remember when there were a bunch of different teams, for instance, Team Sony, Team Sennheiser, Team Grado, etc. And, whenever a newbe posted to find out what headphones where right for him or her, no matter what their requirements were everybody wanted the newbe to join their team.

I never thought we'd evolve into a community where it seems like everyone and his brother either owns an R10 or has heard it (fricken $4000 headphones!), and people buy $300 headphones and $700 amps so casually. I mean, there's got to be at least 20-30 people on this board who have invested more in their headphone collections than I spent on my car!

I remember those days well. I remember at the time I was looking for grados on ebay, and I saw an HP2 go for less than $100. I didn't buy it because I thought they were just some old inferior model. Then, about a year later, they started getting hyped up, and all of a sudden they were going for like $500+. Still kicking myself today.
