Hi! This may seem like an odd thing to do, but I recently bought a Sony Walkman Minidisc player. I wanted to play my digital files on the Higby and record to Minidisc in real time.

So I tried to connect my Higby R6 Pro to it via the USB port of the Higby to a Douk Audio USB converter. This is suppose to convert USB audio to optical. It then outputs an optical signal to the Minidisc optical port. I used a USB-C to USB-A adapter to go from the Higby to the Douk device.

When the signal comes into the Minidisc it comes in very low. I have to turn the volume up on the Minidisc player to hear it. The signal meter is low on the Minidisc as well.

This same process works fine on my phone via its USB C to record to the Minidisc and it also works fine on my computer.

Can anyone give me any suggestions as to why the signal/volume is low coming from the Higby and how I might fix it?

Here is the Douk device I'm referring to.

Have you tried to set up your Hiby with a "Line out" set up (Ouput Selection) instead of "Headphone" then you would have only to set up the the Music level input on the Minidisc .

It's a hunch but I won't get into the inner specs of the Hiby output voltages between these 2 options
I did set my Hiby R3 pro in English to demonstrate the different output set up.
Obviously, once you've done that, in order to set up the maximum db level is to plug an Headphone/IEM out of the Minidisc to control input the volume recording level on the Minidisc.

Unfortunately, I didn’t see the output selection in the Hiby app on my R6 pro
