Thanks for the advice. I will do some checking.
The original E17 headphone amp was considered comparable to the original E11. If you find you can't use the DAC in the E17 with your phone, I'd probably go for the E11K to have a new one with a new battery rather than the E17 with a battery that is a couple of years old, given how lithium batteries do degrade a bit over time.
This.
I have an E17, and I will tell you that it is fantastic. I really like it and it works brilliantly with my old 3GS (have not and likely will not try it with my new phone though).
But...it has a problem with battery life.
Mostly it stays plugged into my E09K at my desk to provide computer audio. I will likely get something else (probably an E18 or similar, since I have an Android phone now) for the next time I need to travel.
I would imagine that "refurbished" means the battery has been replaced, but I'm not sure of that.
I think I remember you have a Nexus 6, liquidzoo? I ended up deciding I like it well enough with my E12 that I just don't want to bother with a DAC. The distortion output measurements on it seem to be pretty darn good (scroll down): http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_nexus_6-review-1164p7.php
Yes, just got it recently. The E12 is on my short list of candidates for a new portable amp. Currently using my old E6, and while I like it, I know that my headphones would benefit from more power than it can provide.
