After replacing the LAME.exe 3.96 in the RazorLame folder against version 3.97 (beta), I get the following error message after encoding:

Quote:

Command: F:\Programme\RazorLame\Lame.exe --preset extreme "H:\Wave\Eigenkompositionen\Voekt - Arethusa.wav" "H:\Temp.Wave\Voekt - Arethusa.mp3"
LAME 3.97 (beta 1, Sep 12 2005) 32bits (http://www.mp3dev.org)
CPU features: MMX (ASM used), SSE (ASM used), SSE2
Using polyphase lowpass filter, transition band: 19383 Hz - 19916 Hz
Encoding H:\Wave\Eigenkompositionen\Voekt - Arethusa.wav
to H:\Temp.Wave\Voekt - Arethusa.mp3
Encoding as 44.1 kHz VBR(q=0) j-stereo MPEG-1 Layer III (ca. 5.7x) qval=3
RazorLame encountered an unknown message from LAME while trying to encode "H:\Wave\Eigenkompositionen\Voekt - Arethusa.wav"!

Encoded 0 files in 0:00:16
There was an unexpected LAME message for one file, please check log for error messages.

The MP3 files are created though and so far seem to be o.k. Nevertheless the error message bothers, as well as the fact that the Wave file remains in RazorLame's encoding list instead of being removed.

Has everybody experienced the same, and is there a solution (other than going back to version 3.96)?

For those affected by the same problem: Modifying the RazorLame.dat will cure it. The developer has quickly reacted to my complaints. Exemplary customer service -- and this for freeware. Thanks, Holger Dors!

Highlight and copy the following text, open the RazorLame.dat with the editor, paste the copied text into the RazorLame.dat (replacing the old one) and save it. Done.
