Elysium: 6.5/10

Elysium wants to be 1984. But sadly, Neill Blomkamp seems to have a problem to exploit this dystopia. And then the overuse of flashback kind of kill this movie. Still, could be worse.

I'll never profess to be impartial when it comes to Stallone or Schwartzenegger, because they are both a huge part of my moviegoing life dating back to my childhood. I've seen everything they've ever done and will continue to do so. That being said, I've really had fun with Stallone's efforts since getting back into the mainstream with his latest Rambo and Rocky films, and also with Bullet to the Head and the Expendables. Escape Plan wasn't quite as endearing with the 80's style one-liners and wisecracks, but I found the premise interesting and the way the story moved along at a pace that held my interest and entertained. I found it an enjoyable way to spend a couple hours and another opportunity to spend time with some old friends.

"Escape Plan" - 7.8/10

The Wolverine 2013

8 out of 10

I thought the ride on top of the bullet train to be an amazing part, as the snow blower. It seemed like the snake woman/Dr. Green was a little too much like Poison Ivy from Batman. One Poison Ivy was a botanist who had lots of chemisry equipment and Dr Green a chemist, Two, they used a poison kiss to kill. Three, they both wore green tight outfits which look almost exactly the same. The character really never became original until she shed her skin.

I did think it was cool how they left small clues as to the fact that the Grandfather was still alive.

Interesting how many solid scores this film gets...I wasn't going to bother, but I may end up giving it a chance...most of the feedback I've seen has been surprisingly good.

Well it seccumbs to the pitfalls that all comic book movies do. The sections that end up being interesting but completely untrue to life are intact in the movie. The special effects are cool, photography is great and the acting is fine. The movie had a plot too so it is kind of a nice on all points.
