I would like to know what people think are the top five best sound AKG cans ranked in order from top to bottom.  I would assume most would place the K1000 as #1 but maybe not everyone?  Lets see what you think.

Have never heard the K1000 so I can't comment on how they sounds but the ear speaker design kinda puts me off.

I sold the K-501 and K-701. The K-501 went because it was tonally close to the K-1000, which I prefer. I do miss it, though. The K-701 was sold because I found it artificial and plasticky. The K-1000, K-240DF and K-340 make me plenty happy.

Well I haven't owned five, but of those I have:

2 - K240 Sextett LP
3 - K518DJ / K81DJ
 
Sorry Sextett lovers, but I still prefer the K601 due to a more prominent deep bass and a less metallic treble. And I have to say, although the Sextett perhaps had a cleaner mid range, it found it did weird things to positioning.

k240DF for neutrality and balanced mids.
k702 for amazing detail, separation and sound stage...mids a disappointment

k240S...bloated upper bass overpowering the mids
 
Still want to hear the 240M and the 50X
