On my CK9s, there is a tiny hole on the driver enclosure. If I closed this hole (say with tape or a teeny bit of blutack), what would happen to the sound quality/isolation? Is the purpose of the hole to equalise pressure across the armature? or am I talking out of my ass

It affects bass response and soundstage. Normally referred as vent.

Is there a matching hole on the other?
If so then yes it is a vent and should not be messed with.

If it a lone hole, then beats me!
But if it was there the day you purchased them then I'm sure it's there for a reason
