Sure...why not. I have an MR 02 LM, modified with a wicked motor Evolution Stock R. A blast for indoor fun.

any recommendations? I am thinking of a less than 500$ nitro or the erevo brushless mini 1/16th. Really reluctant on the electric since I do not want to keep switching batteries cos they run out while on the track or any far off locations. The nitros I am thinking off are truggys like the hpi mt2 3.0, traxxas jato.

You can run out of fuel too you know

And brushless is getting better and better these days.
I bought a converted Mugen MBX5 Prospec with MMM 2200 combo

8th is so much more fun than 10th scale!

i first started when i was maybe 14/15ish. my father and I were pretty big into it.

we had:
rc10gt
ofna OB-4
schumacher (forgot the name, but it was a super 1/10 scale with a .21 engine.)

we used to go to the DMV and race with 20-40 people. there would be a track setup using old fire hoses with the nozzles cut off.

tons of memories..

haven't touched the cars for a long time, but i remember figuring out with my dad that if you werent upgraded parts when they broke, and just went for stock parts, it was cheaper just to buy a whole new car kit, then buying the parts separately.

Brush less motor w/lipo battery (I think that's what it's called) = back flips. Pretty awesome stuff, my friend had one that could do that. I was into RC cars along time ago, but didn't have the dough to spring for a nice one. Got a big 4x4 truck that I haven't touched in years! Although not a custom built (bought it @ radioshack a long time ago) it's pretty good. Has pistol grip controller and such... I have a custom built one too that my father constructed a super long time ago. It has a Ferrari Testarossa cover :) I'll try an get some pics. Awesome thread btw :D

I just sold my Tamiya TA03F. Now I'm down to my TT01.

I'm really considering an SC18 though. Brushless + lipo sounds awesome.

I'm building two Axial AX10's for this summer. Nothing too serious...just for some fun for me and my son.

Here are a couple shots of it basically in stock form after I tore it down and cleaned it up (bought it used)...other one is in pieces...

No huge plans. I threw some Big Bores on it, battery plate up front, mirrored the trans, aluminum knuckles and C's, needs a beefier servo, new tires, and I am going to make some delrin lower arms at some point.
