While waiting for DX to ship my E5 i needed something that could be used with line out on my touch, considering how crappy the headphone out sounds >.<
Had a spare E3, and spent 3 hours making it useful. Stripped it, added two parallell AA batteries (the E3 runs on one AAA, so this should be 6-8 times the battery life), a potentiometer on the out for volume control (with off button). Took some pieces of wood, a router, made a box, added hinges and a lock, put in all the **** and mounted the potentiometer. The connection for the headphones and the LOD is inside the box for sake it...something.....not mounting the jacks on the outside. Last i took a cheap silicon skin i had lying around and nailed it to the lid so i dont have to use those rubbers and whatnot everyone uses.
Just a quick and dirty job, will last until the E5 gets here.
