Hi, I´m about to buy a DAC/AMP from Audio GD, specifically the model NFB-28.38.

Among the upgrades, I choose the USB isolator, but I´m thinking of getting the HDMI replacement for the RJ45 I2S input.

What would be the advantage of getting the HDMI input?

Could I connect my computer or a gaming console through HDMI to this DAC?

Thank you for your help

The HDMI feature allows iis data to be transmitted over an HDMI cable. This is very different from standard audio. You’ll not be able to use it for anything other than iis input. Numerous outboard usb-spdif converters can send iis data over the HDMI cable, like the Matrix-x spdif 2 or the Singxer SU-1, but connecting it to the HDMI output of a motherboard or game console would not result in any sound.
