I bought HD650's a few days ago, and they arrived and are rockin'.  I just ordered 5 feet (I'm not a fan of long cables of unnecessary length) of Moon Audio Silver Dragon cable, the Cardas HD650's connectors, some heat shrink from Moon Audio (what is included in their heat shrink kit???), and a Furutech 1/4" plug.  I will be using Cardas Eutectic solder.

My question is, when I split the Silver Dragon cable up into left and right sides, should I just use a long piece of heat shrink on each side to cover the exposed cable?  Or is there a better method?

Please let me know your thoughts on this.  And yes, I've made cables before.

The cables within the cable should all be insulated. Be carefully when cutting through the main cable not to pierce the insulation of the underlying wires.
There should not be any exposed wire, the use of heatshrink at the v junction should be used to neatin up the appearance etc,

Yeah that's kind of what I figured.  That's for the input!
