I was wondering a couple of things about buying the Clear used. I have someone local that is willing to sell to me. He says they are barely used and approx 1 year old.

Has anyone heard any issues with the Clear having the same failure rates as the ELEX?

Can anyone give me any tips on what to look for that could be problematic?

I plan on taking a look at these today. Thanks.

Just check if they clip anywhere near your listening levels.
When I bought mine, I was cranking up the volume to some really crazy unlistenable levels and they didn't clip so that was enough for me.
There are reports of certain Clears that do clip much earlier than they're supposed to, so check carefully.

When i bought my clear used the only problem i had was the squeezing of the headband and earcups as soon as i moved a bit with it. But that seemed to be common and some people recommended me to use oil for it. However i sold it and luckily the buyer didn't complain.
