Just a quick question. I am trying to put together an e7/e9 dac-amp combo for my new dt990/600 cans and I have a bit of a problem. Thing is, I'm broke and can't buy both at the same time. I was wondering if it would be more beneficial to buy the e7 and have a dac I could use as an outboard soundcard (running everything from my laptop) or if I should go ahead and buy the e9 first so I would have an amp that could sufficiently drive the beyers. Pretty much I'm just asking which would make a more noticeable difference by itself. Thanks for the input!

also looking at the icon udac 2, if anyone has thoughts about those...seems like it would be the best option for value...just not sure if it could drive my phones

I would also check out the Audio-GD NFB-12 if I were you, It's on promo price and seems like an awesome deal.  
 
 
As far as E9/E7, I think the E7 would be much more beneficial, assuming your laptop soundcard is nothing special.
