So I built an ember and its sounds great. I was messing around with the output resistance selection which varies between .1, 35, and 120 ohm. Is the general idea to match the amp's output resistance as closely to the headphone you are using as closely as possible? I guess Im looking for a "rule of thumb" here, Ive searched the forum and I cant quite find the answer im looking for.
For example with my Grado MS2i's would 35 or .1 ohm be optimal? How about my DT 990 Pro 250 ohm? Honestly I couldnt hear too much of a difference between the settings. High resistance seemed a bit more "airy", low resistance can push my cans to dangerously loud levels. What would you guys use with your headphones?
