I sometimes get a little curious about pro audio gear. Some of the stuff I have heard at meets has been pretty good, and certain pro products (e.g. the E-Mu usb soundcards) have gained quite a following around here.

I ran across this:

http://www.markertek.com/Audio-Equip...X-HDPHNA.xhtml

which looks interesting as a very simple, even elegant product at a decent price (if it does not sound like crap). It runs on a 9V, and the manual (there is a link to the manual on the product page I linked above) states that it "delivers .5 watts to any 8 ohm headset." The manual also states that it is typically used as "an inline tap to monitor a sub mix", and accepts line-level inputs.

I realize the product description is a bit thin on details, but is there any reason why this device would function any differently than the portable amps known and loved by this forum?

PS - my search here and elsewhere on the web came up with nada.

That is one of the ugliest amps I've ever seen.

That's why I like the aesthetics.
