Thanks! That looks like him! If they're from South America, then definitely not remotely common in my neighborhood. I'm in Massachusetts! Maybe a pet or escaped from one of the universities.

I have a newfound respect for bird photograpers. That little bugger moved fast and moved a lot! I pretty much relied on a spray-and-pray approach.
Seeing that little yellow guy made my heart happy. Look at that little face! Nice captures!

Since you're in the NE USA, I'd say with almost 100% certainty that it is a pet or maybe escaped from a pet store. From what I found, they're often thought of as a type of Canary but they aren't related.

Just some random test shots with a 60 year old lens (Primotar 3.5/135) on my Sigma FP:

These vintage lenses have so much character. The bokeh in those photos look like oil on canvas. Love them! Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful shots. They look nostalgic and alive.🥹 Snobs call that busy bokeh. We call it character.😁

Not too long ago I found some unwanted Yashica lenses on eBay. Got me both the coated ML and uncoated DSB series.

The ML 50mm f/1.9 was NOS but came with a perfect circle of bluish haze inside the front element.😒 I was upset until I took some test shots. They came out looking like I used a Snapseed vintage filter.

The DSB 70-210mm f/4.0 is uncoated and has green ghosts that look really nice and the bokeh balls look liquid.

I used a Novoflex adapter on my GH4 and the video looks incredibly sharp, and those lenses weren't known for being detailed.

I've never had so much fun with photography before getting these old, "crappy" lenses I paid a song for!

Bored just photographing stuff around the house. lol

I should have used a wider aperture for the first picture.

I mostly just wanted to play around with Lightroom. I finally bit the bullet and subscribed to it, even though I think it's absolutely ridiculous to subscribe to offline software, but Darktable sorta gets on my nerves by how user unfriendly it is.
