My sister wants a portable for running and would like it to use MP3 or whatever (I can probably sway her any direction), but she wants something that has an arm band or hand holder thing.

I use an iPod mini with a radtech sleev and a apple armband. Best running player I have ever had, especially with smart workout playlists generated by iTunes.
In the past, I've used an iRiver 395t, Cowan iAudio 4 and CW200, regular iPod, Rio 500, MZ-R700, Nomad Muvo 128 and an MZ-E900.

I run with a Tunebelt and my MZ-N707 and love the combo. I've run hundreds of miles with that combo and it never skips. I prefer to run with the unit around my waist, it just feels funny wearing something on my arm, whereas the Tunebelt feels like, well a belt

I think like 100 bucks is the max...I guess she could just use my S1 until she finds one she likes.

Definetly the "NOMAD MuVo NX". http://www.nomadworld.com/products/muvo_nx . Dont go for the TX if you want 128 MB of memory or even 256 because usb 2.0 is not too slow.

I agree, the muvo has got to be the lightest full featured mp3 player out there, and it's cheap.

i know that the iriver ifp series (every models, except for lower ifp3xx and lower ifp1xx models) come with an arm band, neck strap, and carrying case.
