all 3 have the same drivers. While the different ways in which they fit will make some difference in the sound, the main basis for choosing is ergonomics and appearance. I have all 3, but never use the KSC-35's, as they aren't secure enough for me while running (others fine them fine for running, apparently. I prefer the portapro's, as they have the best fit. But they look very weird (kind of a 1960s sci-fi look); while the sportapro's have a similar design, they look less weird because they are all black.
the main difference is in how the drivers fit on your head. The Sportas are clamped fairly tight on your ear (though not uncomfortably so!) and therefore have more audible bass--perhaps too much so depending on type of music and your personal taste. They go for about $20-25 U.S. The Portas are slightly less tight and therefore have a little less extreme bass. They cost more though-up to twice the price of the Sportas. The KSC 35s (which I have not heard) rest most loosely on the ears and are reputed to have well balanced sound. These cost a bit more than the Sportas, about $30, and cannot be found at most stores due to Koss's decommissioning of the line. (The 35s were replaced with the KSC 50s which are regarded as being inferior to all the above phones. Too loose, so bass is actually a bit weak according to most who have heard them.)
You can find the KSC35s at some Circuit Citys (remaindered due to the discontinuation), at Koss online (though many recent orderers are complaining of lengthy waits), and (most reliably) at www.headphone.com for $30. If you want very well balanced phones and don't mind the clip on design, order the 35s. If you love bass a lot, the Sportas will do. I wouldn't spend the extra cash on the Porta though.
hey, thanx guys for the suggestions. im probably gonna get a pair of porta pros and a pair of 35s since they seem to be the most popular out of the 3. ill test them out for myself and see which one i like the most.
