I'm looking for a new DAC with USB or Firewire to replace my Duet.
I heard good things about Ayre QB-9 and I probably buy it.
I think I would spend about 2500USD or less.
Please recommend me the alternatives to Ayre QB-9.(Can I do better for this price range?)

Thanks

Take a look at the Ayre Codex. I think it may even be better than the QB-9. Personally I think it's the best deal out there for its performance. Plus, you can use it as a headphone amp and pre amp. The headphone balance output for is exceptional and the built in amp is very good. I use mine as my primary DAC but when the kids go to sleep, plug in a pair of nice headphones and your set.

I have a Duet.  I think its strength is more as an A to D than as a DAC.  For a DAC I use and can recommend a NAD M51, which is within your price range.

Edit:  oops, I just noticed how old this thread is.
