I like the amperior's sound a lot, that's not why I want to return them. It has a very clear, upfront sound, with good bass, and good imaging. However the thing can't be worn for more than a couple hours without ear ache. I'm looking for an alternative with good sound, portability, and around the 200 dollar price range (I got the amperior for 175). I doubt there will be another pair for the same price that sounds as good but I want to try to find one. So far people have told me that the CAL and Cityscape Uptown would be a major downgrade. Also that the Sony Mdr1 doesn't have as good of sound quality. I listen to all kinds of music, including metal.

If you looking for something similar, the mdr-1r is what you're looking for on comfort. Also consider the Sennheiser Momentum.
