I did try it with my friend's normal iPod line out and I think it still does give the improvement mentioned above but not as great as compared to the iMod but still worth it though. I highly recommend you guys try it out!

If you do a search on iMods you will understand that when your iPod is modded, the internal capacitors are bypassed and you will need external capacitors either inside the LOD or like the Mcaps to remove a DC voltage that would fry your earphones. It's a set of capacitors inside
