a bunch of pix of my creative zen micro and my creative ep-630s. I'm linking the combo, obviously pretty low end on the headphone side, but the headphone jack on the zen has worn out. I have to solder it soon.

I haven't seen a lot of 2nd gen zunes in the pix, are they a good hard drive player? Which hdd player has the best audio quality (I know that iRiver clix2 has the best for flash... I'm looking at that too).
Possible future rig: Zune 2nd Gen 30gig -> Minibox-e or iBasso t2 or RSA tomohawk -> Denon d1000 or ultrasone hfi-700.
suggestions wanted.

From what I hear, the Kenwood HD30GB9 has the best audio quality for an HD DAP but it's pretty expensive. The Zune80 has pretty great SQ as well.

Seem like your a Creative fan LOL

You should give the tiny cheap Sansa Clip a serious listen - the audio quality is amazing for a $35 player. (A 4GB version will be released soon).

there is no 30gb 2nd generation zune. the 1st gen was only 30gb, the 2nd gen is 80gb, plus the flash models. check out the review at Anything But iPod - MP3 Player Reviews & News great review, looks like a solid product.

That is a rockboxed iRiver H320 with matching WPS, as seen here (see how the screen flows into the case? Brilliant!):

And I can tweak the screen to whatever color scheme I desire, as seen here:

The amp is a standadr GoVibe V5, except I slapped a design on the beveled chassis. All art (including Rockbox WPS) designed by me on a very bored series of days... all I need to do is dye my MS1 orange...

Funny you say that, I had an identical H320 I sold some months ago with that design... I have two H320's in my possession right now, one with the design, one without it. The one without it is my backup.

I'm a fan, but it was a pragmatic choice really, the zen micro was better than the ipod mini 3 years ago when I was in the market for a player and last year I upgraded to the creative ep-630s because they were the best cheap isolators. I had a pair of sony streetstyles before this.
