The question is in the title :)

Would you go for phone and pa?(E12) or go for dedicated mp3 e.g ColorFly C3?

Answers on a postcard please :)

I have a Fiio X3 and Sony F805 for on-the-go.
Since I care about replaygain and Fiio X3 doesn't have this feature (yet) I need to amplify my entire library with audacity so I am doing this day by day, cd by cd. Now the F805 is my main on-the-go player, it has other features too but it pairs extremely well with RE0 and quite well with SM3, but I keep my SM3 for ultra-portable use with my Sansa Clip+.

With the iBasso T5 amp, Fiio X3 is superb and reaches the level of my iBasso D4 USB DAC+AMP with OPA1612.

I don't use an amp with my F805 and find not all IEMs pair really well. MEE A161p don't match to my ears.

The F805 looks good thx! Looking at the Cowon S9 too.
