EDIT:Rewrite with better picture
Ok after visiting this site http://freett.com/Tfactory/Audio/AZ6829/InsideAZ.html
and hearing about how the az6808 should sound identical to the az6829 I decide to open my az6808 to see inside.
EDIT:New Suff Start Here
Here my picture comparaison between the AZ-6829 which has insane bid price on yahoo.jp and my lowly AZ-6808
All the picture of the AZ-6829 were taken from this site http://freett.com/Tfactory/Audio/AZ6829/InsideAZ.html
First the outside AZ-6829
Go here they have batter picture.

AZ6808
AZ-6808 Open "The AZ-6808 is Design and Produce by Philips the Inventor of Compact Disc"
Open the AZ-6829
AZ-6808
Similar on less flat copper cable
Overview PCB AZ6829
AZ6808
They use the same PCB.
Underneat main PCB AZ6829
AZ6808
As you can see the upper PCB in the az6829 has 3 caps beside the upper left red connector in the az6808 there only 2 caps
Close up of the DAC chip
AZ6829
AZ6808
Same chip on the 2nd like of the SAA7341GP on the az6829 the number is K2A023 I believe on the az6808 is K2A028
From an altavista translation of the japanese site this is the analog part
AZ6829
AZ6808
Everything seem to match perfectly
Last chip close up
az6829
az6808
Conclusion the AZ6808 must sound pretty damm similar to the famous az6829
/EDIT: Old Tread
How does it sound. The quick answer is it seem less detail than the dcp-150 but a bit more coherent than the dcp-100 but it less aggressive than the dcp-100 so making a bit it less fun well the dcp-150 is sometime less fun than the dcp-100. It's a warmer because the denon are very clear and bright with the ety 4S at least. But it has good attractive sound presentation with a good amount of detail. I like it better than my PowerCD.
So I guess I still concider the DCP-150 is the king of PCDP.
