I've heard the UE 6000 headphones, how do they compare to the X1, L1 and M100?
I prefer deep bass but the UE6000 sounded a bit harsh to me at times with an average soundstage (smaller than my dt770s).
Would the Philips with their boosted bass and rolled off higher end be the solution to the UEs brightness? I've noticed the M100s also have a boosted bass with rolled off highs.
How do the Philips offerings compare to the vmoda in soundstage?

Did you listen to the UE's with the Noise Cancelling on by any chance? Most stores put them on display with the NC fixed in the On position, and that boosts their bass and highs quite a noticeable bit. I say this because the UE's have got to be the darkest sounding headphone's I've owned, the lack of highs bugs me so much I'm actually about to go return them soon. Don't get me wrong, they are a very good dark sounding headphone in passive mode, it's just that I don't like that much darkness. And they are certainly darker than the DT770's with the NC off, so you should probably try listening to the UE's again in passive mode.
