Apologies if this has already been posted, however Philips are on the verge of releasing a high end on the go can and I've been keeping my eyes peeled having found a few vids on YouTube outlining it's intriguing features

Being semi open, especially with it predominantly a portable headphone struck me most. Personally looking forward (having listened to their fidelio speakers) to trying these out.

I am currently using the iPad, and linking YouTube visd can be a nightmare! When I click the links it comes up in English (albeit with a Frenchman and his strong accent ).
 
Pricing has been suggested at £250 or thereabouts - therefore inline with the P5 and DT1350.

I have a weak spot for Philips. Their HP1000 was already a killer headphone. Their SHP5401 is better than it ought to be for the price.

These look very nicely built. If it's reasonably priced, I might pick up a pair just for that.
I'm pretty sceptical about the noise isolation these are supposed to give though, since it's an open design.
I'm curious to see what these stack up against sound-wise.

It looks like they are using a lot of damping material in front of those vents, though.  At any rate, they do look intriguing.

they look very good. When they will be available in the market? I have one pair of SHP5401 and they are amazing for the price i have paied and i also have one pair of "very vintage" pair of EM6146 that are not so bad if i think how many year thay have

Definitely looks intriguing, the design looks really gorgeous to me, great stretching headband so it won't clamp too hard, aluminium body. Angled driver, really good memory foam pads, semi-closed design with probably reasonably dense foam dampening inside. I love semi-closed designs, like they said brings the best of both worlds (well obviously not as great isolation as fully closed or as great soundstage as fully open but it's a good compromise in-between which results often in great bass response too).
 
Based on the pdf I think these will probably be somewhat similar to Sony ZX700 / Z1 with possibly just a slight touch more bass. Slightly boosted bass response, forward midrange, just tiny bit recessed highs (they never mentioned anything about highs but mentioned the vent in middle for increase lows and mids, why I suspect it will have a tiny bit tilting response) so wouldn't suprise me if they had a touch of warmthness to it. Just guessing and reading between the lines though.
 
Thumbs up for Philips for this one, there's definitely some thoughts and effort put into this headphone unlike many other lowcost headphones of theirs. Wonder when they will be available?

Remember UK / europe is expensier in comparision to US but I think we're looking at around $300, possibly slightly less in terms of street price (~$250). Looks like a reasonable price.

EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieQVyNsDNr0 here they mentioned the L1 is going to be launched October in europe but January in US market, doesn't suprise me as Philips is a very european centric company. Philips products are the most common audio related products seen here in local marketplaces in Finland for example.

 I find it funny how Philips manages to make EVERYTHING. I went for a CAT scan the other day, the machine was Philips, and so was the MRI machine that I saw. This morning, I ate toasttoasted in a Philips toaster, and watched TV on a friend's Philips TV. How do companies manage to do that?

They have completely different departments (buildings) that are responsible for different things, like Sony with their music stuff and Samsung with their appliances. At least I hope so. I'd rather not have the shaver department work on my headphones.
