When are these headphones going to be released? Specifically on Amazon. I can buy them from The Apple Store online right now, but it's full retail price. Sometimes Amazon gives some kind of a discount on their items.

It's not just Amazon. You can't find these anywhere else in the US beside the Apple Store at the moment for whatever reason. Perhaps an exclusive deal with Philips to release them early?

Oh. That's interesting. I'm still wondering if I should get these or the CitiScape Uptown's. Considering the Fidelio's are twice the price.

Can't speak for the Uptowns, but the Fidelio L1 is a very nice headphone IMHO.

Are the Fidelio's balanced sounding? Are any sounds more pronounced than others? I realize now that I don't want something bass heavy, I'm looking for upfront balanced sound. I don't know exactly what that would be specified as.

For me, a "slight" bottom end emphasis implies that it's not overpowering. What I mean is that the presentation of frequencies is pretty even-handed, but that there's a bit of a boost in the lower registers. It's not enough to be intrusive in the midrange. Instrument separation is a bit above average, but nothing mind-blowing. The links above have more detailed impressions.
