500+ Head-Fier
Really nice reviews thank you. Oriolus is the best earphone I ever listened.
Really great review, alffla. I especially do agree with you on how a little more body to the vocals can be desired at times (with the Chinese version cable). My impression is that with the PW No.5 cable, the mids become more forward, you gain a bit more depth at the expense of width and a bit of air. If you have the chance, I do recommend you check it out.

I think your review really captures the sonic characteristics of the Oriolus in just 2 words: natural and effortless. No matter which kind of music I throw at it, the Oriolus admirably reproduces them with clarity and detail no less than what my JH13 is capable of, while at the same time not ripping the tracks apart. It's such an easy sound to listen to and yet I am at ease knowing that I'm not missing anything.
Btw, I'm really inclined to check out the Andromeda, but from the sound of it it does not look like it'd be as good an all-rounder as the Oriolus is. What do you think?
Thanks for the cable impressions. I've thought of upgrading to the PW cable many times, but don't want to change the already stellar tuning and air the original Chinese cable gives. While I love my mids, the airiness is what makes this IEM so special, so I'm not going to sacrifice any of that.
After reading the last few posts and @alffla review, I had to purchase these with the PW cable. Now the waiting game begins.
Does anyone know whats the different between the following? Why is the price listed for the Chinese versions (with Oriolus logo) a lot cheaper than the Japanese versions?

It just seems like everything being sold in Japan/US sites is about ~$250 more (ignoring PW/OEM cable difference). What gives?
the difference is in the cable..the iem itself is the same..
